I found myself awake amidst roaring monsters,
At night their eyes would shine bright and beam ahead,
They followed one another like ants along a grey stoned trail,
One after the other, chasing each other’s tails to no avail,
At once a crash, a thunderous noise with muffled cries,
Two beasts were down asunder, broken and piled together,
The others now slowed with loud grating whines,
A long lag ensued with each monster nearly touching,
The constant screech of beating horns filling the air,
And less than an hour had passed that the lag was no more,
With drone after drone buzzing passed each other once more.
